Meet Michelle Sullivan - Founder of Agebest Basics®
Michelle gives us a glimpse into her personal world:
Words to live by
When I was a kid, my dad told me, "There's no such thing as a free lunch." I've worked hard to get where I wanted to be, and I believe that in most cases I made my own luck. And "believe you me," as we say in my home state of New Hampshire, it wasn't always easy!
Greatest skill
I do my very best to make everyone I come in contact with feel important. Every human has a little spark that makes them special, and I try to make that spark burn a little bit brighter.
Why the name Agebest Basics®?
Some people brainstorm in the shower, some dream about something and remember it the following morning. I hit the trails on our local mountain to do my best thinking. The words just came to me: "Agebest" meaning "be your best at any age" and "Basics" meaning "fundamental." Focus on the basics to stay youthful. That's what our company is all about.
What motivates you?
A challenge, especially if it involves creating something. Also, I love transformation – taking something ordinary and making it notable. Taking an idea, even a glimmer of an idea, and turning it into reality – that's very fun.
Your dream job?
I always wanted to be a doctor, until I encountered organic chemistry in college. Then I decided I wanted to be a photographer for National Geographic; that was, until I read an article about a real-life National Geographic photographer and decided that being covered by big snakes and bugs while trying to shoot a photo spread was not that glamourous after all. Now, I have my dream job - and I'm very happy about it!
What's relaxing?
Spending time with my family, working on our house, being outdoors, reading magazines and sleeping.
May we ask the obligatory "favorites" questions?
Sure...
Favorite color?
Orange - it's beautiful and makes me happy.
Favorite movie?
Impossible to name just one: Indochine, Out of Africa, Cinema Paradiso, Love Actually. Hmmm – there's a theme emerging here . . .
Favorite music?
My iPod has over two days worth of music that I love, including Gregorian chants, Yo-Yo Ma, Led Zeppelin, OutKast and Getz/Gilberto. The best is my Workout mix...it motivates me to go harder, faster, and longer.
Favorite day?
Saturday...in particular, Saturday morning. I wish all days could feel like Saturday morning.
Parting words?
I wish you health, happiness – and Agebest Basics® – every day!
